You're not going crazy! You're most definitely seeing double!
Today, I went to my first Day for Kids sponsored by the Tyler Boy's and Girl's Club and my news station KLTV. It was anything an everything kids love to do: bounce houses, crafts, activities, and amazing food!
Kids are such characters and I sought out a lot of those characters today. There were Star Wars fans, ballerinas, princesses, and even an adorably sassy pair of freckle-faced twins! I wish I could tell you their names, but they ran for the bouncy houses after we took our selfie! They casually wanted to let me know that they watch me every morning. Girls after my own heart!
Each kid that came to our booth was guaranteed a KLTV staff member to guide them through their own mini weather-cast. Most of the time, it meant we literally got down to their level.
About half of the children needed help reading the cue-card script, while the rest took it away like it was nothing!
Sometimes days like these are the reminder that you need that everything isn't so difficult. I'm not around kids... hardly ever, so I don't usually get to see their most simple appreciation for the smallest of things. Their love for life is undeniably contagious.
They ended up being the small burst of sunshine I very much needed today.
Even being dead tired (after having worked through the entire night), I had a great time with my fellow co-workers and newfound community. I think I even witnessed a few potential stars in our bunch!
