It's basically an unwritten law that when you are getting ready for a night out on the town, there needs to be music in the air, to get you in the zone. You can catch me jamming to slow indie alternative on wine night, Beyonce all day every day, but mostly as a warm up for any potential dancing opportunity, and Texas country on the nights I'm feeling my southern roots.
This weekend, we upped the ante on our pre-game, because my soul sister Amber and I went all out on her turntable.
Fair warning, this turntable is not the cheesy-glow-in-the-dark-spinning-rave-machine you'd see a twenty-something DJ named "Cookie Monster" operating in an underground night club.
This machine is as "new-classic" as they come; wood finish, sensitive needle and a classic warm sound.
Just to add to the ridiculous amount of jealousy I have for Amber's awesome sound system, she also owns the most dynamic collection of records. A collection that seems to grow every time I come over. I made an absolute mess just trying to decide which records I wanted next.
So while we enjoyed our first drinks for the evening and went throughout countless outfit decisions, we let the records of our favorite artists spin, while we sang along. Our jams for the night included Arctic Monkeys, Stevie Nicks, and a little Taylor Swift. (#BadBloodDanceQueens)
