This journalist finds nothing more exhilarating than working on a story people genuinely care about. This week, I was able to do just that.
While I wish circumstances would have been different, the tragic murders of a Midlothian family of six had me running on all four cylinders. Even when I was sleeping, I was thinking about different angles to address during the preliminary investigation of this horrifying case.
I wanted the story to be done right.
It was my mission for everyone to have all the answers and I wanted to present that information in the fastest and most compassionate way possible.
And even though the family who lost their lives weren't from East Texas, our East Texas residents cared so deeply about their stories.
One of the coolest aspects of my job is that I get to interact on a very close level with our viewers. I got to hear all the good (and bad) comments and questions my followers had for me through Facebook, emails and phone calls! It was awesome!
It helped guide my story each day I came back to it.. And because of that, I believe I was able to stay focused and determined amidst a very overwhelming subject matter.
My biggest thanks to the over 100 new followers who have joined me within the last couple days... And my continued gratitude goes to my foundation of followers who make my job so worth it.
Thanks again from the bottom of my heart.
