Finally got my hands on the biggest donut in Texas... and the size wasn't the most shocking part!
Let me be clear... this is the only doughnut that's ever actually taken my breath away. But one bite in and I thought my eyes were tricking me!
Underneath all the delicious chocolate icing and coating of rainbow sprinkles, I noticed the dough was orange! (debatably yellow)
I've had my fair share of donuts in and around Austin, but I've never seen the 'orange donut'... and according to some of the locals, I've been missing out!
If you've ever had Mexican sweet bread known as "pan", I think you will find this donut has a very similar consistency. Remember: The key to a great donut is the dough... not the sugar!
I would have been willing to pay up to $25 dollars for this specialty item... but it barely cost me $10! DO NOT pass this place up the next time you are on I-35!
(My Order below!)
- Pink Sprinkle Donut .79 cents
- Texas-Sized Chocolate Donut with sprinkles $6.99 (Sprinkles were only .50 cents extra!)
- Regular Sausage Kolaches with cheese
(And yes, I really did buckle this donut into the passenger seat of my car... Safety first, y'all!)
